Fulham reportedly wanted to sign Dedryck Boyata from Celtic in the summer transfer window.

According to BBC Sport, Fulham wanted to sign Boyata from Celtic in the summer transfer window.
It was reported that the Cottagers – who will play in the Premier League this season after winning automatic promotion from the Championship – made an offer of £8 million for the former Manchester City central defender, which the Hoops turned down.
Celtic manager Boyata has told BBC Sport that he “does not anticipate” losing the 27-year-old – who earns £14,000 per week, as salary, as reported by The Daily Star – in the summer transfer window.

Positive news for Celtic fans
Boyata is not exactly a ‘great’ central defender, but the Belgium international is an important figure for Celtic and is one of the better players for manager Rodgers.
It is imperative that Celtic hold onto the 27-year-old, not just to succeed in Europe but also in domestic competitions in Scotland this season.
