The Celtic star wasn’t quite up to his usually high standards last night.
Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers addressed the media after his side’s comfortable 3-1 win over Hamilton Academicals last night, and singled out defender Jozo Simunovic for criticism, following a lackadaisical display from the 23-year-old, as quoted by the Evening Times.
Celtic continued their superb domestic unbeaten run – one that now stretches to 69 games, with last night’s victory, but Rodgers was not entirely happy with what he saw at Parkhead.
The Glasgow giants sit comfortably at the top of the Scottish Premiership table, five points clear of second placed Rangers, having played a game less than their bitter rivals.

Rodgers will ensure that his team remain focused, however, and will not allow even the slightest form of complacency to creep into his squad of players.
The 44-year-old offered an insight into his psyche, when speaking to reporters after last night’s victory, highlighting how he demands nothing short of 100 per focus and commitment at all times from his players, as quoted by the Evening Times:
“Listen you have to expect something, but one of the chances came from us. It was loose play by [Jozo] Simunovic being short on the pass-back and the boy should maybe do better.”
The Croatian has made just seven league starts for the Hoops so far this season, and he will have to dramatically improve upon his concentration levels, if he is to establish himself as a first-team regular at Parkhead.
