Celtic’s Kristoffer Ajer is set to join Kilmarnock, according to manager Brendan Rodgers.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed to The Scottish Sun that midfielder Kristoffer Ajer is set to join Kilmarnock on loan until the end of the season.
The Bhoys have added just the one new face to their squad during this month’s transfer window, with Krasnodar midfielder Kouassi Eboue joining the club subject to a work permit being granted.

Eboue’s arrival does mean that some players are now at risk, and it seems that one youngster is being sent out on loan for first-team football as a result.
Norwegian teenager Kristoffer Ajer agreed to join Celtic back in February 2016, and proved to be Ronny Deila’s final signing as Celtic boss before being sacked, never even working with his fellow Norwegian before being sacked.
Ajer, 18, only joined up with Celtic over the summer, and has found first-team football hard to come by, playing just one first-team game – and that came against Lincoln Red Imps back in July.

A talented youngster, Ajer needs to have more exposure to first-team football, and it seems that manager Brendan Rodgers agrees with that.
Speaking to The Scottish Sun, Rodgers revealed that Ajer is heading out to Scottish Premiership rivals Kilmarnock, penning a loan deal with lee Clark’s men until the end of the season.
Rodgers added that Ajer had a number of possible destinations, but Celtic wanted him to be close to home where they can track his development easily, hence a move to another Scottish club in Kilmarnock.
“Kris will go to Killie. There were options for him, but it’ll be good for him to go and play there for the rest of the season, where we can keep a close eye on him, and take him back in the summer,” he added.
