Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers signed Olivier Ntcham from Manchester City earlier this season.

Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has confirmed to the Scotsman that Olivier Ntcham will be in the Bhoys squad to face Linfield in Champions League qualifying tonight.

Celtic are expected to cruise past Linfield this evening, after beating the Northern Irish side 2-0 in the first leg.

Ntcham is yet to make his competitive debut for Celtic, after joining from Manchester City this summer.

Yet Rodgers is already very impressed by what he has seen from the youngster.

He said: “He’ll be in the squad. He had a nice little run out on Saturday which excited us with his quality and the way he moves. He’s a wonderful player.”

Ntcham never played for City during his time with the Premier League side, but he does have first-team experience.

The French youth international has been loaned out to Genoa for the past two seasons, and he has played fairly regularly for the Italian side.

Ntcham’s arrival adds further depth to Celtic’s options in midfield, with Rodgers now having plenty of players to choose from.

If Celtic make it past Linfield, as expected, they are set to take on Dundalk or Rosenborg in the next round of Champions League qualifying.
