The Belgian defender is back for Celtic this week following a two-month absence.
Speaking via Celtic’s official Twitter page, manager Brendan Rodgers confirmed that Dedryck Boyata will be included in the squad to face Dundee on Wednesday.
The Hoops travel to Dens Park for a League Cup quarter-final this week as Rodgers’s side look to move one step closer to retaining their title.
The Celtic boss has the luxury of including Boyata in the squad for the first time in two months following a knee injury which has rendered him a spectator so far.
The former Manchester City centre-back was a big player for the Hoops during the second half of the 2016-17 campaign, and Rodgers says it’s “great news” to welcome him back.
The Northern Irishman went on to confirm that Erik Sviatchenko and Eboue Kouassi are still a couple of weeks away from resuming full training.
Rodgers is right about Boyata – it is great news. Celtic have two huge games on the horizon and getting the Belgian up to speed would be a big boost for their chances of victory.
First, the Hoops take on Rangers at Ibrox in the first Old Firm of the season on Saturday, before turning their attentions toward a Champions League clash with Anderlecht.
