Celtic are set to take on Manchester City in the Champions League tomorrow evening.
Brendan Rodgers has confirmed at his press conference today that Craig Gordon will start for Celtic against Manchester City tomorrow.
Celtic had been putting Dorus De Vries through rigorous training to assess his fitness ahead of the match, however the Dutch stopper does not appear to have recovered in time.
As a result, Gordon will start against City – with Rodgers keen not to take any risks with De Vries’ fitness.
De Vries picked up the injury during Celtic’s 6-1 win over Kilmarnock last weekend.
Gordon now has the opportunity to try and win back his place, after falling out of favour following Rodgers’ arrival at Parkhead.
Gordon has only made one league appearances for Celtic since 23rd August, with De Vries seemingly ahead of him in the selection order.
The Scotland international looks set to be kept busy against City, as Pep Guardiola’s side head into the contest on the back of 10 straight victories.
