Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is not impressed by the current state of the Glasgow side’s pitch.
Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has admitted to the Daily Record that he is concerned about the state of the pitch at Parkhead.
Celtic may have been in impressive form at home this season, but Rodgers is striving for better.
And the 44-year-old boss believes that with a pitch which is more conducive to passing play, Celtic will improve even more.
“It [the current state of the pitch] is a concern for me,” Rodgers said. “When we’re trying to entertain supporters and play a level of game, the pitch is vital.
“But we’ll get it organised, we’ll get it sorted I’m sure.
“Hopefully the pitch could go down in the summer. That’s what we should do.”
Rodgers has implemented a patient style at Celtic since taking charge, which demands his side keep possession.
The Bhoys have been in wonderful form so far, but their pitch wasn’t in the greatest shape this weekend.
Celtic still got past Motherwell 2-0, but there were noticeable periods of the contest when the pitch did affect Rodgers’ side’s build up play.
Despite the difficulties with the playing surface at Parkhead, Celtic are still cruising to the Scottish Premiership table.
Celtic are currently 24 points clear at the top of the standings, with their next match coming against Hamilton.
