Celtic were quite simply brilliant against RB Leipzig last night.
Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers spoke to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s superb 2-1 win over RB Leipzig in the Europa League last night, and took time to praise the club’s supporters, labelling Parkhead as one of the most intimidating places for foreign sides to play football, as quoted by BT Sport.
The Hoops began this season in rather poor form, but they seem to be back to somewhere near their best, having won their last four games in all competitions, scoring an impressive 15 goals in the process.
Celtic will now fancy their chances of qualifying from their Europa League group, with a trip to Rosenborg and a home game against Salzburg still to come.
Rodgers spoke to reporters after his side’s hugely important win over Leipzig, and offered high words of praise for the Celtic fans, highlighting how important they were to last night’s vital three points, as quoted by BT Sport:
“If you have never been to Celtic Park before it is one of the most intimidating arenas in European football. Some of the best teams in the world have come here over the years and have suffered. The emotion in the stadium really helps us as a team and the supporters are very proud of their players. It was a very emotional game, our players fed off that and the supporters helped us to the victory.”
Celtic will be buzzing after last night’s win, and it would be no surprise to see them reassert their domestic dominance over the course of the next few weeks and months.
