Brendan Rodgers says Scott Brown in great company with Celtic and Liverpool legend.

Celtic midfielder Scott Brown is set to surpass the record number of top level European appearances made by Kenny Dalglish.
Dalglish made 68 appearances in the European Cup, and Brown will make his 69th this evening against Anderlecht, a new record for a Scotsman.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers paid tribute to Brown ahead of the fixture, stating that his achievement is a ‘great accolade’.

He told The Telegraph: “He’s in great company with Kenny, who is obviously a real legend here and at Liverpool
“It’s a mark of his consistency, to have played that number of games under various managers. It’s a great accolade and hopefully he’s got many more ahead of him.”
Celtic are already out of the qualification race for the knockout rounds, drawn into a tough group with Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain.

Their only win came away at Anderlecht, a 3-0 victory, and Celtic must avoid defeat by a greater scoreline this evening against the Belgians in order to seal qualification to the Europa League.
Brown’s achievement is a tribute to his longevity at Celtic, although Liverpool supporters would point out it is quality and not quantity which is a true measure of greatness.
Dalglish won the European Cup three times with Liverpool, in 1978, 1981 and 1984. Brown is yet to come close.
