The Italian looks surplus to requirements at Liverpool, where Brendan Rodgers signed him in 2014.
Liverpool’s Mario Balotelli looks dejected
Brendan Rodgers spoke to talkSPORT earlier today (13/07/2016) in the wake of Celtic’s embarrassing defeat to Lincoln Red Imps in the Champions League qualifying stages.
He spoke about his former club Liverpool and was soon pressed on the matter of Mario Balotelli.
The Italian looks set for a Liverpool exit this summer after failing to have any real positive impact since being signed by Rodgers in 2014.
Liverpool’s Mario Balotelli is substituted as ex-manager Brendan Rodgers looks on
Rodgers had this to say about the player’s future:
“I think for any player they want to play and if you are not in the plan of a manager you want game time as a player.
“Hopefully he can find a home and settle and get back to using his talents because he is a big talent the boy.”

He was then asked by co-presenter on the show Ray Parlour whether perhaps a move to Celtic would be on the cards. It was an idea that the Celtic boss simply laughed off.
Even if Celtic did want Balotelli, it is unlikely he would be keen on a reunion with Rodgers. Earlier this month, as reported by the Liverpool Echo, Balotelli told Italian media that his relationship with Rodgers was ‘disastrous’.

Although not many Celtic fans would have welcomed Balotelli with open arms anyway, considering the fuss that surrounds him.
It will be interesting to see just who does this summer.
