Brendan Rodgers’ return to Liverpool ended in defeat as his Leicester City side conceded a stoppage-time goal at Anfield over the weekend.

Brendan Rodgers has lauded the Liverpool supporters for giving him a warm reception prior to his Leicester City suffering a 2-1 defeat at Anfield on Saturday.
For the first time since leaving the club in 2015, Rodgers made a return to his old stomping ground where he watched Liverpool secure a stoppage-time victory.
Whilst Rodgers was grateful for the support, he would have been devastated in the manner in which his team lost that game.
Speaking to Bein Sports, Rodgers shared his thoughts on returning to Liverpool as he paid tribute to the Merseyside supporters.
“It was wonderful to be back,” Rodgers told Bein Sports. “I was happy to be back and I was excited to come to bring this team here and compete.
“The supporters here are fantastic supporters. I had a nice applause before the game and I thank them for that.”

The man who replaced Rodgers four years ago in the Anfield dugout – Jurgen Klopp, is tasked with trying to help Liverpool end their PL trophy drought.
They have won their opening eight Premier League games of the season and have a trip to their bitter rivals Manchester United awaiting them in two weeks time.
Liverpool go into the international break with an eight-point lead after Manchester City suffered a surprise home defeat to Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolves on Sunday.
