Are Celtic in danger of losing Kieran Tierney in the summer transfer window?
Tierney has been on the books of Celtic his entire professional club football career so far and has a contract with the Glasgow giants until June 2021, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
The 20-year-old is one of the best left-backs in the Scottish Premiership and is one of the best young players in entire Europe.
The Scotland international defender, who has also featured as a centre-back on occasions, has been linked with moves away from Celtic to clubs in the Premier League in the summer transfer window.
While The Sun credited Manchester United and Arsenal with interest in the youngster back in June, The Mirror linked Liverpool with the defender (the Reds have signed left-back Andrew Robertson).
Celtic manager Rodgers has said that Tierney loves the club and wants to stay at Celtic Park, but the former Liverpool and Swansea City boss has suggested that there is a danger that his head could be turned.
“He loves being here, he knows he’s developing,” Rodgers told The Express about Tierney. “He’s a sensible boy and he’s developing into a top-class young player.
“I don’t get a sense from him other than he’s in a good place, in a happy place. He genuinely loves playing for the club.
“There are very few players like that nowadays. Players love football but they don’t necessarily love the club. Kieran Tierney loves football – and he loves Celtic.
“With so much potential there is always a danger that his head will be turned, but we will cross that bridge when it comes to it.”
