Speaking to STV, Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has said he is delighted to have signed Jonny Hayes, amid speculation linking him with a move to Cardiff City this week.

The Irish winger, 30, joined Celtic in a £1.3 million move from Aberdeen this summer but bizarrely he was linked with a switch to the Championship down South.

The transfer window closed in England on Thursday and Hayes remains a Hoops player.

The Republic of Ireland international is yet to score or assist a goal in any of his four appearances under Rodgers so far, but Hayes scored nine and set up 12 for the Dons last season and the Northern Irishman suggests he will deliver.
