Filip Benkovic joined Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic on loan from Leicester City in the summer transfer window.

Benkovic joined Scottish Premiership club Celtic on a season-long loan deal from Premier League side Leicester in the summer transfer window.
According to The Glasgow Evening Times, there is a recall clause in the 21-year-old central defender’s loan deal with the Hoops.
Celtic manager Rodgers is keen on the Croatia Under-21 international staying at the Hoops until next summer, although the ex-Liverpool boss has admitted that he is uncertain whether that will happen.
Rodgers told The Glasgow Evening Times: “We haven’t had confirmation of that but it would be great for Leicester, for Filip and for us [if he stayed].”

Key figure
Benkovic has been brilliant for Celtic since his loan move from Leicester in he summer transfer window and has established himself as a key figure in he heart of the Hoops’ defence.
It will be a massive blow for the Bhoys if Leicester recall the defender – who cost them £13 million in transfer fees, according to Sky Sports, when they signed him from Dinamo Zagreb in the summer transfer window – in the middle of the season.
