Brendan Rodgers comments on Celtic’s Olivier Ntcham after suffering an ankle injury.

Brendan Rodgers has suggested to The Record that Olivier Ntcham may not be fit for Celtic’s Champions League qualifier with AEK Athens on Wednesday.
The influential French midfielder suffered an ankle injury in this afternoon’s 3-1 win over Livingston at Parkhead.
Ntcham, a £4.5 million signing from Manchester City last summer, scored Celtic’s third goal of the afternoon from the penalty spot but was seen hobbling on the field in the dying stages.
The 22-year-old has been excellent in the Hoops’ earlier qualifiers this summer.
Although it is too early to determine the extent of the problem, a worried Rodgers admitted to The Record that Ntcham is a “red flag” at the moment.
He said: “Olivier is a red flag. He took what looked a sore one on the ankle.
“He will be assessed but they can be okay once the swelling goes down. It’s all I can say about Olivier just now.”
Losing Ntcham for any period of time would be hugely disappointing for Celtic but the Northern Irishman will be hoping that the problem is nothing overly serious.
Goals from Tom Rogic, Odsonne Edouard and Ntcham got Celtic’s title defence off to a winning start against Kenny Miller’s side today, with Scott Robinson grabbing a late consolation for the visitors.
