Leigh Griffiths is back in training for Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has told The Daily Record that Leigh Griffiths looks fit and strong.
Griffiths has been on the sidelines recently due to a knee injury, but the Scotland international striker now seems to be back.
Rodgers is delighted with the return of the 28-year-old to training and has spoken highly of the former Livingston and Dundee star – who has been on the books of Celtic since January 2014 when he joined from Wolverhampton Wanderers for a transfer fee reported by The Daily Mail to be worth £1 million.
“Browny’s back in training, Leigh is back in which is very good news as well, he looks fit and strong and working hard,” Rodgers told The Daily Record.
Welcome boost
Celtic have done well without Griffiths and have won in the Scottish Premiership in his absence.
However, the Scotland international is one of the best strikers in the Scottish Premiership, and the 28-year-old’s return is a welcome boost for the Hoops.
While the striker may not feature for Celtic against Hamilton Academical in the Scottish Premiership this weekend, the 28-year-old could well play against Rosenborg in the Europa League and Aberdeen in the Scottish League Cup final next week.
