Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths did not play against Hearts at the weekend.
Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has told the Daily Record that Leigh Griffiths has been struggling with his fitness for months.
Griffiths missed out on playing in Celtic’s latest match, which came against Aberdeen.

The Bhoys won 4-0 against the Dons yesterday, as they extended their unbeaten run of 27 unbeaten matches since the start of the season.

However, the news was not all good, as Griffiths is expected to miss the next few weeks with a calf problem.
“Leigh Griffiths has struggled for a while now,” Rodgers said. “He needs to get fit. He needs to get to work on his body and get fit because he keeps breaking down.

“He played the other night for 15 minutes, came off and his other calf was tight. He needs to get his body right before he can even think about playing in games. That is what he is doing.”
Griffiths has had a fairly productive season so far at Celtic, but he has found his starting chances more limited this season.

Moussa Dembele appears to have taken Griffiths’ place as the Bhoys’ number one striker.
However, Griffiths has still hit 13 goals in 26 appearances for Celtic so far this campaign and Rodgers has always spoken highly of the former Wolverhampton Wanderers forward throughout his time in charge at Parkhead.
Celtic are next in action on Wednesday evening, when they take on Aberdeen.
