Scott Brown is playing well for Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic at the moment.

Brown has earned a reputation of being a very combative and no-nonsense midfielder, and is one of the best players in the Scottish Premiership.
The 32-year-old former Scotland international midfielder has been on the books of Celtic since the summer of 2007 when he joined from Hibernian for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £4.4 million.
Celtic boss Rodgers has admitted that he has been taken aback by the quality of Brown on the ball.

Rodgers told The Scottish Sun about Brown: “From a football perspective, I was surprised.
“I knew he was someone who could put his foot in, that’s what Browny is renowned for. He’d go through a brick wall for his team.
“But this was a guy who had real footballing qualities that I felt get bypassed because of this character he seemingly was.”

Key player
Brown may be in his early 30s, but the Scotsman remains an important player in the current Celtic team.
The former Hibernian star is a regular for the Hoops, and since he has now retired from international football, he can carry on for four or five more years at least.
The Scotsman will be a key player for Celtic in the Old Firm derby against Rangers at Ibrox this coming weekend.
