Brendan Rodgers is understood to be keen to keep Stuart Armstrong at Celtic.
Armstrong’s future at Celtic has come into question recently, with the former Dundee United man still not agreeing a new contract.
Celtic have offered Armstrong a new deal, but he is yet to commit to staying with Brendan Rodgers’ side.
West Bromwich Albion are understood to be one of the most interested teams in the central midfielder.
And Rodgers admits that he believes that the speculation surrounding Armstrong’s future is affecting the midfielder’s game.
“What worried me the other day was that I saw something in a player that I hadn’t seen from back when I first came in. That is where the contract situation comes in. It is about finding that stability,” Rodgers said.
“Just a lack of confidence, nothing behaviourally. It’s just when you see someone’s confidence being effected. When you see a sort of nervousness when he made a pass.”
Rodgers is understood to be desperate to keep hold of Armstrong, but doing so could now be a challenge.
Celtic are next in action later this evening, when they face Astana in what could be a crucial Champions League qualifying match.
It is not yet known whether Armstrong will start for the Bhoys in the contest.
