Celtic have signed Ipswich Town youngster Kundai Benyu.
Celtic have this afternoon confirmed the signature of Ipswich Town midfielder Kundai Benyu on a four-year contract, with the teenager excited by the move.
The Bhoys have already added one new face to their squad during this summer’s transfer window, with Republic of Ireland international winger Jonny Hayes joining the club from Aberdeen.

Even after winning all three domestic competitions without losing even a single game, manager Rodgers is still looking to boost his squad – and appears to have one eye on the future.
Whilst Celtic swooped to land Ivorian youngster Eboue Kouassi from Krasnodar in January, the Bhoys have secured a move to bring in another talented young midfielder.
19-year-old Kundai Benyu, who has come up through the ranks at Ipswich Town, has left Portman Road this summer with his contract set to expire – and Celtic have pounced to sign him on a four-year contract.
Cross-border contract rules mean that Celtic only have to pay minimal compensation for out-of-contract players in England under the age of 23, and they exploited that loophole to land Moussa Dembele from Fulham last summer.
Now, they’re at it again, with Celtic announcing earlier this afternoon that Benyu has penned a deal with the Bhoys, becoming Rodgers’ second signing of the summer.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers gestures to the crowd
Benyu has told the club’s official website that he is ‘delighted’ to be joining Celtic, admitting that it’s a ‘great opportunity’ to play under Rodgers, and he can’t wait to meet his new team-mates and get started in Glasgow.
“I’m absolutely delighted to be joining Celtic. It’s a massive honour to sign for the Scottish champions and one of the world’s truly great clubs,” said Benyu. “It’s also a great opportunity for me to continue to develop as a footballer under Brendan Rodgers.”
“I’m looking forward to meeting up with my new Celtic team-mates. I know there’s a lot of hard work ahead of me but I am ready for this, I’m looking forward to the challenge and I can’t wait to get started,” he added.
