Sunderland have signed both Brendan Galloway and Tyias Browning on loan from Everton.

Brendan Galloway has told the Sunderland Echo that he received positive feedback from Everton teammate Tyias Browning about Sunderland boss Simon Grayson, prior to his move to the Stadium of Light.

Browning moved on loan to Sunderland earlier in the summer, and Galloway was keen to hear from his Everton teammate before making the move to Wearside.

And Galloway says that all the feedback he received about the Black Cats was very positive.

“I had a long chat with Ty and a few words with other people, apparently the manager is really good to work with,” the defender said.

“He will want us to work hard and then you get in the team, hopefully we can all work hard to get this club to where it belongs.”

Galloway and Browning are both likely to have important roles to play at Sunderland this season.

The Everton youngsters have shown flashes of quality, but are yet to have a vast amount of first-team experience.

Sunderland have a lack of options in defence currently, meaning Grayson is expected to start both the Everton loanees next term.

Sunderland are under pressure to get off to a fast start in the upcoming campaign, after enduring such a disappointing season last time around.

The Black Cats get their season underway with a match against Derby County first on their schedule.
