Brendan Galloway has admitted to the Liverpool Echo that he has found Ronald Koeman’s first few training sessions at Everton ‘tough’.
Galloway had an encouraging breakthrough season last term, when he made 19 appearances.
The 20-year-old looked comfortable whenever called upon, but he has a point to prove with Koeman at the helm.
Galloway says that he is pleased with the Dutchman’s appointment, but admits that pre-season training has been demanding.
“The sessions have been tough,” Galloway admitted.
“But there has been a lot of ball work as well which is always nice and I look forward to the week ahead in Austria and getting fit.
“I am looking forward to playing a lot for him.”
Galloway is likely to face increased competition at Everton next season – with new players expected to join.
Everton have over £100 million to spend this summer, and defensive additions are likely to be high up on Koeman’s list of priorities.
Everton struggled at the back last term, with their defensive vulnerabilities plaguing their season.
The Toffees could only manage a disappointing 11th placed finish last campaign, but they will be aiming for Europe next time around.
