Much was expected of the 21-year-old left-back when he arrived at the Stadium of Light in the summer, but the youngster’s form and performances have left much to be desired.
The England Under-21 international has managed to make five starts and two substitute appearances in the Championship for Sunderland so far this season.
Galloway, who has been on the books of Everton since the summer of 2014 and was signed by then-manager Roberto Martinez, has admitted that it has been tough for him at Sunderland.
The 21-year-old also outlined the difference in training sessions under new manager Chris Coleman from his predecessor Simon Grayson.
Galloway told The Shields Gazette: “My main focus now is to take each day as it comes, to train hard and do everything that I can to get in the team.
“As a young player, all you want to do is play football. Then I’ll take it from there. It has been tough and a learning curve, a bit of both.”
“Since the new manager has come in the intensity has gone right up and training has been really good,” added the youngster.
“Everyone knows he is a good manager from what he did with the Wales squad, everyone has been excited to work with him and everyone is ready to work as hard as we can for him and the football club.”
Sunderland are struggling in the Championship at the moment and are in danger of getting relegated to League One at the end of the season.
