Speaking on the Spurs Web YouTube channel, Michael Dawson has praised Tottenham Hotspur youngster Japhet Tanganga.
Dawson was being asked about the impact his old partner Ledley King has been having on the coaching staff at Spurs, and inevitably, that led to a discussion about Tanganga, a player King has worked very closely with.
Dawson has seemingly been very impressed by the defender’s start to life as a professional footballer.

“Yeah, fantastic and when the documentary came out I thought Tanganga was fantastic. I thought he was a breath of fresh air. I met him when I went down for the Arsenal game, he’s a great kid,” Dawson said.
“He had to be patient, but when he broke onto the scene he was fantastic, and that’s when it’s hard sometimes as a young lad, to stay there. When he came back in, I thought he was brilliant at the weekend, the intensity, the tackles and the hunger that he had,” Dawson said.
Dawson certainly knows what it takes to be a star defender for Spurs, so this is high praise indeed.
Tanganga has taken to life in the Premier League like a duck to water, and it’s easy to forget he’s just 21 years old when you watch him play.
Spurs’ defence has had a fair few issues this season, but the long-term solution to those problems could well be Tanganga.
Hopefully, Ledley King continues to have a strong influence and the youngster continues to grow in north London.
