Adam Forshaw hails the impact Jesse Marsch is making with Leeds United FC and shared how the squad are ‘buying into’ the American’s ways, via quotes by the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Marsch is preparing for his first full season at the Elland Road helm after replacing Marcelo Bielsa in February. The 48-year-old adopted a side that was fighting to avoid relegation but secured their Premier League survival, yet only on the last day of the campaign come May.

United chiefs have backed Marsch to now assemble a squad that he believes is capable of greater results. Leeds have used the funds from Kalvin Phillips’ £45m move to Manchester City and Raphinha’s £55m sale to Barcelona to sign six players so far for a combined £91m.

Leeds broke the bank to reunite Marsch with Brenden Aaronson in May for £25m from RB Salzburg. Luis Sinisterra has since followed from Feyenoord in a £21m transfer, along with £20m Tyler Adams, £10m Marc Roca, £10m Rasmus Kristensen and £5m gem Darko Gyabi.

Sinisterra will replace Raphinha on the right-wing in West Yorkshire, while Adams has the unenviable task of succeeding Phillips. Both Raphinha and Phillips were huge presences at Leeds and arguably their best players, who leave huge voids for Marsch to now overcome.

Forshaw ‘can’t speak highly enough’ of ‘breath of fresh air’ Leeds boss Marsch

Marsch has blown Forshaw away with what the American has managed since taking over from Bielsa at Leeds. The midfielder is thrilled with the United head coach’s positivity and intentions to build what he has, plus how the Whites first-team have taken to his ideas.

“He’s been a breath of fresh air,” Forshaw said. “Personally, for me, I’ve loved it and I can’t speak highly enough of him. His positivity is infectious.

“He really makes you feel optimistic and believe in everything we want to achieve this season. I’m loving it, and I know the lads are buying into the new way of playing.”

Leeds will be eying a much-improved performance in the Premier League in the upcoming season after last term’s troubles. The Whites failed to achieve double digits for wins, with just nine victories from 38 games, whilst also scoring just 42 goals to a huge 79 conceded.
