Leeds United have unveiled Vurnon Anita, after he was released by Newcastle.

Leeds United have completed a deal for Vurnon Anita on a free transfer, the club have announced via Facebook Live.

The club unveiled Anita along with their official kit launch, timing the event to coincide with the deal.

Leeds also confirmed the transfer via their Twitter account.

Former PSV Eindhoven star Anita can play at full-back and midfield and played a part in Newcastle winning promotion to the Premier League.

Anita, 28, was unlucky to be released by Newcastle, and is a solid signing for Thomas Christiansen’s Leeds.

He is the fourth player to sign for Leeds this summer, with Hadi Sacko joining permanently after his loan deal, and Felix Wiedwald and Mateusz Klich joining from FC Twente and Werder Bremen.

Dutchman Anita made 25 appearances for Newcastle last season, including 22 starts.

He has also won four international caps for Holland.
