Brazil are always looking out for the next superstar and one player with potential to be great is Sao Paulo teenager Antony.

Antony has been billed as a next generation talent and recently signed a long term contract with his club until 2023, before even making an appearance.

Over the weekend Antony made his long awaited debut for Sao Paulo’s first team.

The 18-year-old came off the bench for the final 20 minutes as Sao Paulo drew 1-1 with Gremio.

Antony revealed that Tottenham ace Lucas Moura had reached out to him to show his support.

Antony told Gazeta Esportiva: “I received many messages, but I received from a guy that his humility is without comment. It’s Lucas Moura, who is an idol in São Paulo.

“He gave me strength, tranquility. It’s always good to hear from an experienced guy to put into practice in the games. It’s a guy who inspires me a lot, through humility, work. I have to thank him a lot too.”

It was at Sao Paulo where Lucas made his name as a teenager, earning a big money move to Paris Saint-Germain.

The Tottenham star did not have to go out of his way to reach out to the young protege, and deserves credit for showing his support and encouragement to the youngster.
