Gabriel was in action for Arsenal in their opening Premier League game of the season against Fulham in the London derby.
The 22-year-old left-footed central defender started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, as Mikel Arteta’s side won 3-0 at Craven Cottage in London.
The Brazilian was defensively solid, looked calm and composed on the ball, and he also scored for the Gunners in the London derby.
According to WhoScored, Gabriel had a pass accuracy of 94.7%, won one header, took 121 touches, and made two tackles and three clearances.
Some Arsenal fans were impressed with the display produced by Gabriel, and have suggested that he is better than Liverpool star Van Dijk.
The Netherlands international central defender is one of the best players in his position in the world and has been superb for the Reds since he signed.
The former Celtic star was instrumental in Liverpool wining the Premier League and the Champion League over the past two seasons.
