Liverpool striker Roberto Firmino’s poor form has continued after his latest display for the national side.
Brazil beat Uruguay 2-0 last night, but the Liverpool man’s display was not particularly convincing.
Despite being played as a striker, the Brazilian media felt that he was too isolated and did not have much of an impact on the match.
And when the Liverpool striker did have an opportunity he fluffed his lines, which has become all too familiar a tale recently.
Lance said: “Isolated from the rest of the team. He played most of the time in the centre of the attack and did not get too involved in the match.
“He had a good chance to score, but he kicked weakly into the hands of the goalkeeper.”
O’Dia, meanwhile, wrote that ‘he had few opportunities to finish’ before giving him a 6/10 rating, which was the lowest score any of the starting players were given.
Firmino’s display is unlikely to have done much to boost his confidence.
The 29-year-old has come under some pressure at Liverpool this season, with Diogo Jota in such prolific form.
Firmino has just one goal to his name, but he will be required this weekend.
The Reds are without Mohamed Salah, so Firmino is practically guaranteed to start against Leicester City.
