West Ham United beat Wolverhampton Wanderers to Luizao
90min have reported that Wolverhampton Wanderers were among the clubs keen on Sao Paulo centre-back Luizao, but it is their Premier League rivals West Ham who have managed to secure the Brazilian’s services.
Fulham, Benfica, Sporting Lisbon, FC Porto and Juventus also wanted to sign the youngster.
Luizao is out of contract at Sao Paulo at the end of January.
According to 90min, Luizao has turned down two new contract offers from ao Paulo and has signed a pre-contract with West Ham.
The defender will reportedly sign a three-and-a-half year deal with the Hammers and join up with the London club after he gets a work permit.
West Ham plan to draft Luizao immediately into the first team, according to the report.

One for the future
Although West Ham United are planning to use Luizao in the first team, he is one for the future really.
After all, Luizao is only 20 and will be coming straight from Brazil.
You really cannot expect such a young and inexperienced player to hit the ground running in the Premier League.
If Luizao does indeed move to West Ham in the coming weeks, then we are likely to see more of him next season.
