Brazil player ratings v Germany: Chelsea midfielder scores consolation

Chelsea midfielder Oscar scores the most pointless goal at the World Cup as Germany thrash host nation Brazil 7-1.

Júlio César 4 – There’s not much to say about a goalkeeper that concedes seven goals, but he did make some good saves outside of the humiliation.

Maicon 2 – Despite a slightly promising game against Colombia, Maicon looked like a League 2 player running up and down against Bayern Munich.

Dante 2 – Was supposed to fill Thiago Silva’s shoes, probably couldn’t have done a worse job if he tried.

David Luiz 1 – The captain who abandoned ship. Missed tackles, interceptions and even kicking the ball. I think Paris Saint Germain will be slightly embarrassed.

Marcelo 2 – Looked really up for it in the first ten minutes. Couldn’t do anything to help stop the onslaught.

Luiz Gustavo 2 – One of the most disappointing players from tonight, partly because of the performances he has given so far.

Fernandinho 2 – Responsible for the fourth goal by giving the ball away, a shocking game for Man City player.

Hulk 2 – Just couldn’t do anything to help Brazil with any attacking impetus, which would have helped soften the blow.

Oscar 4 – To his credit, just kept going. Got a consolation and probably the most pointless goal of the World Cup.

Bernard 1 – Should have done so much better from the positions he got himself into, but every pass and shot was way off.

Fred 0 – I’ll be very surprised if this man ever wears a Brazil jersey again. Couldn’t of had more than ten touches.
