Ian Wright has told the Wrighty’s House podcast that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp needs to be ‘braver’.

Liverpool faced off against Manchester United in the FA Cup last weekend, and went down 3-2.

Klopp drafted Milner into his midfield for that game, with Curtis Jones forced to play down the left flank.

Liverpool actually looked more of an attacking threat than they have done in many games recently.

But Wright doesn’t think that playing Milner was a very pro-active move.

And he has urged Klopp to be more brave with his future team selections.

“I’m thinking he’s got to go braver,” Wright said. “He’s got to play Curtis Jones instead of Milner. Bring Milner on, if you’re trying to steady the ship and hold them off, but the creativity that Jones brings – I thought he should have started [in midfield].”

Whether Milner will play against Tottenham in Liverpool’s next match remains to be seen, but it looks unlikely.

The Telegraph have reported today that Jordan Henderson and Joel Matip should be fit, which means that Milner is likely to lose his place in Liverpool’s side tomorrow.
