Brandon Barker joined Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers in the summer transfer window.
Brandon Barker of Rangers
Barker joined Rangers in the summer of 2019 after leaving Premier League giants Manchester City.
It was a free transfer, and 22-year-old winger arrived at Ibrox with a strong reputation.
The English youngster has said that he had offers to join four clubs in the Championship before he made the decision to move to Steven Gerrard’s Rangers.
Barker said on BT Sport 1 (11:55am, September 22, 2019): ”I had quite a few options down south.
“I had like three or four teams in the Championship, but none of them was really in my heart. I think Rangers then got in contact and then within a day it was all done.”
Promising winger
Barker has not made the kind of start at Rangers that he would have been hoping for, with the winger yet to establish himself in the Gers’ starting lineup.
According to WhoScored, the winger has made one start and one substitute appearance in the Scottish Premiership for Rangers so far this season, and he has also played 16 minutes in the Europa League.
Although the youngster has scored once for the Gers this season, his performances have not been great, and the winger will need to step up in the coming weeks and months.
