Brandel Chamblee is one of the most outspoken and captivating golf analysts in the game.

The former PGA Tour player has made a career out of backing up his forthright takes with cutting edge stats and analysis.

And Chamblee explained exactly why he thinks there is a standout, runaway leader in the race for the PGA Tour Player of the Year this season.

Brandel Chamblee was never an elite player himself, although he did make 370 starts on the PGA Tour.

So, it’s fair to say that he has a good understanding of what it takes to succeed at the very highest level of the game.

And the outspoken golf analyst has now made it very clear where he stands on the debate surrounding the race for the PGA Tour Player of the Year.

Brandel Chamblee claims Scottie Scheffler is ‘dominating’ PGA Tour Player of the Year race

Chamblee continually beats the drum that Scheffler is the best golfer on the planet by quite some distance.

And in fairness to him, the stats back that up as well.

Now Chamblee has taken to his X account to argue why Scheffler is currently dominating the PGA Tour Player of the Year race as well.

Scheffler’s year thus far reminds me a little of Korda’s in 2025, he said.

Nelly played at a very high level and statistically was only negligibly off from 2024 when she won 7 times, and yet did not have a win.

Scheffler has just one win this year, and some might argue that the POY year race is wide open, but he’s actually miles ahead. We are all biased by win totals, sometimes at the expense of consistency.

For the past two years Scottie has been consistently brilliant, this year he has been brilliantly consistent.

If Rory or Fitz wins The Open the story changes but right now Scheffler, despite not being dominant in wins, he is dominating the Player of the Year.

Scottie Scheffler is still the world’s best player by some distance

Despite the fact that the 30-year-old has just one win to his name this season, he is still sitting top of the FedEx Cup points list.

The world number one has nine top-5 finishes to his name in 14 PGA Tour starts.

He hasn’t finished outside the top-25 since August 2024 and he has now made 78 consecutive cuts.

Scottie Scheffler is well placed to break numerous PGA Tour records over the next few years.

He may well have struggled to get over the line and win as consistently in 2026, but he is still very much the man to beat on the PGA Tour.
