Manchester City were without Phil Foden last night in their 2-1 win against PSG, with the 21-year-old still feeling the effects from an injury picked up over the weekend.
The Manchester Evening News report that Pep Guardiola made the decision to rest Foden. The 21-year-old winger was on the receiving end of a strong tackle against Everton.
As per the report, it is not a serious injury and it is likely that Foden, who earns a reported £100,000-a-week, will be back in action soon. Moreover, City did not miss the England international that much in last night’s fixture.
The Manchester giants took their Parisian rivals to the sword. And whilst City went behind, the game was always in their control as Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus secured the three points for the Premier League side.
Indeed, it was one of City’s best performances of the season. However, leading up to the match, there was outrage amongst some fans over Foden’s injury update.
Some supporters were critical of how Guardiola handled Foden in the Everton game. And whilst the injury is not serious, some fans believe the Catalan coach could have taken on the situation.
