New Bournemouth signing Brad Smith has told the club’s official website that it will be good to reunite with Jordon Ibe at the club.

The Australian full-back completed a move to the Cherries on Wednesday, signing a four-year deal.

He is the latest player to depart Anfield this summer, as Reds manager Jurgen Klopp continues to mould the squad to better suit his needs.

Indeed, that fire sale has already seen another Reds man make the move to Bournemouth, with Ibe completing a transfer earlier in the summer transfer window.

And Smith says it will be good to reunite together in Eddie Howe’s side next season.

“I know Jordon Ibe well,” he told the club’s official website. “We played together in under-18s, under-21s and then obviously were promoted to the first team. We’ve played many years together and it will be good to play together again.”

It now remains to be seen whether both players can establish themselves as first-team regulars in Eddie Howe’s side next season.

They would have found first-team football hard to come by at Anfield, but both will be confident of securing regular minutes with the Cherries.

Doing so will be a major boost to both players’ development and it will be Liverpool who will be hoping they do not end up regretting letting both go this summer.
