Tim Sherwood raved about Leeds United summer signing Rodrigo on Sky Sports News (2:36pm, October 17, 2020).

The former Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa manager was impressed with the display produced by the Spain international against Manchester City before the international break.

The 29-year-old, who can operate as a winger or as a striker, came on as a substitute against City at Elland Road in the 56th minute and scored just three minutes later.

Sherwood said about Rodrigo on Sky Sports News (2:36pm, October 17, 2020): “Fantastic. He comes on and it’s a dream. This boy’s got ability, he’s already had a taste of the Premier League with Bolton many years ago.

“He’s got good movement, he’s not a number nine – he drifts off the wide positions, but he’s going to be a real threat. Bielsa is just letting him settle into the Premier League.”

Good signing for Leeds United

Rodrigo joined Leeds from Valencia in the summer transfer window and arrived at the West Yorkshire club with a strong reputation.

The 29-year-old, who has played 25 times for Spain, has scored one goal in 153 minutes in the Premier League for Marcelo Bielsa’s side so far this season, according to WhoScored.

The former Valencia star is likely to grow in importance in the coming weeks and months for Leeds, who are a better team with him in it.

Paul Merson’s prediction

Meanwhile, former Arsenal and Aston Villa star Paul Merson does not think that Leeds will win against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday evening.

The Whites will take on Wolves at Elland Road in the Premier League tonight.

Merson said on Sky Sports News (2:37pm, October 17, 2020): “I worry against Wolves. I like Leeds, I think they are the team to watch but there’s a lot more to be done, believe me.

“Even though they are doing well, I don’t see them beating Wolves, I would be shocked if they beat Wolves. I think because of the way Wolves play and the way they can counter-attack and they have got players that can majorly hurt them.”
