Tottenham Hotspur have set up a Champions League semi-final with Ajax which is a dream fixture for several of their players.

Spurs have four former Ajax stars in their ranks, Toby Alderweireld, Davinson Sanchez, Jan Vertonghen and Christian Eriksen.

Despite Spurs’ and other top European sides raiding Ajax for their top talent over the years, the Dutch side have made it to the Champions League semi-finals.

Tottenham booked their place last night too, with an away goals victory over Manchester City which sounds more simple than it was.

One of the most dramatic games in Champions League history saw Spurs lose 4-3, and still qualify, seeing off a late fifrth from City which was ruled out by VAR.

Toby Alderweireld sent a message after the game expressing how excited he is to take on Ajax.

The match away to Ajax will be an emotional game for Alderweireld and co, but they will have to set this aside.

A place in the final against Liverpool or Barcelona will be on the line, and at this stage, anything is possible.
