Matt Doherty has claimed that Harry Kane will now be ‘looking at other records’ after the Tottenham striker surpassed Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry’s, Premier League goalscoring record, as he told Sky Sports.

The boyhood Arsenal fan added that his Tottenham teammate will be ‘pleased’ after passing such a record.

On Monday night, Spurs thrashed out-of-sorts Everton 5-0, with Kane netting a brace, and with it, scoring his 175th and 176th Premier League goals of his career.

As a result, he passed arguably the greatest striker of the Premier League era and Arsenal icon, Henry.

Whilst Doherty may now don the colours of Spurs, he did grow up supporting Arsenal, and no doubt, idolising a man like Henry, as he reacted to Kane passing that record.

“He will be pleased,” said Doherty. “But he is going for all types of records, isn’t he?!

“So, I think that will just be a couple of goals off the notch for him and he will be looking at other records.

“He will be pretty pleased, but he will now be thinking where he can get his next couple of goals from.”

Whilst Kane has many individual records and will probably add more to his career as the years go on, he doesn’t want to end his career like that.

The England captain has been one of the best forwards during the last decade and is worthy of playing on the biggest stage of them all.

But, as things stand, not only is he entering his 30s without a trophy to his name, but not currently playing Champions League football.

It’s not like he hasn’t tried throwing punches for Tottenham, they did, but many will point towards Daniel Levy’s lack of ambition on the pitch as a reason behind why the Mauricio Pochettino era ended with an empty cabinet.
