Celtic are urged to start Kristoffer Ajer in Old Firm clash.

Former Celtic captain Tom Boyd has praised defender Kristoffer Ajer and backed him to start against Rangers at the weekend.
Ajer has become a regular for Celtic over the past month, and Boyd believes the 19-year-old has earned an opportunity this Saturday.

Bpyd told The Telegraph: “Kris has defended well in the past three matches, but there is also one asset he has from being converted from a midfield player.
“He can step out with the ball at the right times and you can see the breaks that he makes out of the backline into advanced positions cause so many problems for opponents. Who goes to him? Who picks him up?
“So, on that basis, I can’t see any reason why he could not stay in the side for the Rangers game. I’m almost sure the manager would have no qualms about putting him in.”

Ajer spent last season on loan at Kilmarnock and that experience which included impressing in matches against Rangers has stood him in good stead ahead of this season.
The teenager was a low risk signing from Norwegian side IK Start, and is finally beginning to really demonstrate to Celtic supporters what he is capable of.
He has played all 90 minutes in the club’s last three league games, which have seen them keep three clean sheets in succession.
It would certainly be harsh on Ajer to drop him this weekend, and he has given them no reason to. If he hears the praise from Boyd, then it will lift his confidence even further.
