Celtic fans are reacting on Twitter to a rumour about Maryan Shved.

According to The Scottish Sun, the forgotten Ukraine international is wanted by former club Karpaty Lviv.

Shved quit the Ukrainian side to join Celtic 18 months ago but it’s been a horrific stint in Glasgow for the 22-year-old.

Since arriving last summer, the winger has managed just 40 minutes of football across all competitions, despite scoring a worldie in a Champions League qualifier 13 months ago.

In spite of his low-profile stint under Neil Lennon, Shved, who was brought to Scotland by Brendan Rodgers, remains an intriguing player for many fans of the Parkhead club.

Here’s how some of them are reacting to the new speculation on Twitter.

If Lennon can’t find a way to integrate him into the first-team squad then Shved is better off leaving, but a loan in Scotland would be ideal.

There is undeniably some talent there, evident by the fact Rodgers paid £2.2 million to sign him.

And it’d be a shame if Celtic were to easily give up on this investment without trying to make it work, though it must be noted that Shved – who has reportedly been homesick – also has a responsibility to do his bit.
