Gervonta Davis has been taken into police custody two weeks after a warrant was issued for his arrest.
The boxing star had been scheduled to fight Jake Paul in November.
The fight, though, was cancelled after Davis was hit with domestic violence allegations through a lawsuit.
Paul went on to face Anthony Joshua instead, and ended up with a broken jaw after getting knocked out by the former heavyweight champion.
Gervonta Davis arrested following warrant linked to October incident

An arrest warrant was issued for Davis on 15 January. The charges include false imprisonment, battery, and attempted kidnapping, all connected to an incident that took place in October.
It is alleged that Davis assaulted a former partner at a gentleman’s club – the same person who is now suing him. The woman claims the ex-WBA lightweight champion “grabbed her by the back of her head, pulling her by the hair with one hand and by her throat with another.”
In a statement police confirmed the arrest: “As a result of the diligent and hard work of our special victims unit, an arrest warrant has been issued for Gervonta Bryant Davis on the following charges – battery, false imprisonment and attempted kidnapping.
“The investigation determines that Mr Davis used force to restrain and attempt to remove the victim from the location against her will.
“The Miami Gardens Police Department is actively working with the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force to locate and apprehend Mr Davis.”
A multi-day surveillance operation conducted across three counties in coordination with the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force led authorities in Miami Gardens to locate Davis.
Davis’ most recent mugshot has been posted on social media. His bail is currently set at $16,000.
Gervonta Davis faces an uncertain future
Gervonta Davis has not fought since a disputed draw against Lamont Roach, and his future in boxing is now up in the air.
The 31-year-old managed to hold on to his 135lb world title despite calls for a knockdown, following their March 2025 bout.
However, ongoing legal troubles and a lack of activity have since cost him the belt.
WBA president Gilberto Mendoza moved Davis to ‘champion in recess’ status, citing his inability to defend the title he had held for four years.
‘Tank’, who holds a record of 30-0-1, will have an opportunity to make his case before the WBA before any final decisions are made.
But right now, there are far bigger concerns for him than whether or not he remains a world champion.
