Bournemouth want Weston McKennie but the Juventus midfielder appears to be waiting for interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
That’s according to Corriere della Sera, who claim that McKennie is likely to reject a move to Bournemouth.
The Cherries have a new American owner in Bill Foley, with Hollywood star Michael B. Jordan also involved.
Maybe we shouldn’t be surprised to hear that Bournemouth allegedly want to sign an American international star.
However, their move for McKennie looks set to hit the buffers because the Juventus midfielder has bigger plans in mind.
It’s stated that McKennie is waiting for firm moves from other clubs who want him.
Chelsea, Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham are the clubs mentioned with McKennie preferring to join one of them over Bournemouth.

McKennie shouldn’t be a Tottenham priority in January
We have heard many times about just how how much Tottenham director of football Fabio Paratici loves McKennie.
Paratici brought McKennie to Juventus back in 2020 having seen promise in him at Schalke in the Bundesliga.
Alasdair Gold – one of the most reliable Tottenham sources out there – claimed earlier this season that Paratici actually wanted McKennie ahead of Bentancur in January of last year.
Gold has even claimed on YouTube that Paratici thinks McKennie is a ‘superstar’ and remains a huge fan of the American midfielder.
Tottenham making a move for McKennie may not be a huge surprise, especially if he is ready to snub Bournemouth.
Yet another hard-working midfielder whose output will likely surround athletic ability, grit and determination over creativity maybe isn’t the right move.
McKennie has ability on the ball but is seen as a midfield shuttler rather than a player how can unlock defences.
Tottenham need to focus more on a right wing back and a creative attacking midfielder rather than McKennie, even if it means ultimately missing out on a Paratici favourite.
