According to Sky Sports, Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Bromwich Albion are battling for Benik Afobe and he should pick the move to Molineux, if both sides reach acceptable deals with Bournemouth.

West Brom and Wolves are both said to be negotiating with Bournemouth for the 24-year-old, who is thought to be available this month.

Wolves want a new forward to strengthen their promotion bid, while Alan Pardew is eager to add a forward to strengthen his attacking options.

Afobe now faces a big choice over which club to join, and the rapid forward should pick Wolves.

Not only does Afobe know Wolves well, but he would likely receive more game time at Molineux than West Brom.

Wolves are strong in almost every department, but they do miss a natural goalscorer.

At West Brom, on the other hand, he would be in competition with Saloman Rondon and Jay Rodriguez and would likely be given a rotational role.

West Brom also need a prolific scorer, but Rondon, Rodriguez and Afobe all offer very different skill-sets, and all could have their uses in different matches.

Wolves look almost certain to earn promotion this season, meaning they could leapfrog West Brom next year. And Afobe should take his chance to sign for Nuno’s side, rather than considering a switch to the Hawthorns.
