Lewis Cook on Enzo Fernandez

Bournemouth defensive midfielder Lewis Cook has raved about Chelsea star Enzo Fernandez after playing against the Argentina international star.

Bournemouth took on Chelsea at home in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The match ended in a goalless draw.

Lewis Cook praises Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez

Former Leeds United defensive midfielder Lewis Cook started for Bournemouth, while Argentina international midfielder Enzo Fernandez featured for Chelsea.

And Cook was impressed with the £315,000-a-week (Spotrac) star.

Cook said about playing against Fernandez, as quoted on BBC Sport: “I felt I did good. I had quite a big job to mark him.

“He’s a top, top player and we all know that. It’s good.”

Enzo Fernandez performance review

Enzo Fernandez is one of the best young midfielders in the world and is an important player for Chelsea.

While the 22-year-old has been playing well for Chelsea this season, against Bournemouth today, he was not at his best.

The Argentina international, who won the 2022 Qatar World Cup, could not do much of note playing as a number 10 and lacked the necessary threat.

Although Fernandez was good on the ball at times and showed some good touches, he was never really involved in the game for long spells.

Chelsea as a team were disappointing.
