The Cherries ascent looks set to continue this season, inspired by the England international.
Bournemouth left-back Charlie Daniels has told talkSPORT that the arrival of Jack Wilshere on loan from Arsenal has improved a number of the club’s players in just a few months.
The 34-time England international, arguably the biggest transfer coup in The Cherries history, has revitalised his career on the South Coast, notably finding his way back to full fitness after a succession of injuries limited him to just 17 Premier League appearances in the last two seasons.
Many observers questioned Wilshere’s decision to move to a club who finished 16th in the top flight last season ahead of reported suitors AC Milan and Roma, the playmaker has justified his decision as Eddie Howe’s side push on impressively with the 24-year-old at the heart of their eye-catching passing football.
And Daniels believes the addition of such a naturally gifted footballer to the club’s ranks has helped raise the game of many of his improving his team-mates.
“The belief is that we can attract the big names and a lot of the lads have picked up on that and started to flourish and settle,” the in-form left-back told Jim White on talkSPORT, broadcast at 10am on 2nd December.
“[Wilshere has] improved a hell of a lot of players just by training with him. Some of the lads who’ve been here a while have really improved in the time Jack has been here.
“You can see his qualities. It’s no surprise has played so many times for England and for a top club like Arsenal.”
While Wilshere has added an extra dash of quality to an already talented Bournemouth midfield, the performances of Harry Arter alongside him in the centre of the park have arguably been even more impressive, with the Republic of Ireland international surely one of players’ Daniels was alluding to.
