Bournemouth are currently in pole position to secure the signing of Alex Scott this summer.

According to TeamTalk, Bournemouth are leading the race to land Bristol City’s Alex Scott. Premier League rivals Tottenham, West Ham, and Wolves are also vying with the Cherries for his signature.

As Bournemouth prepare for a second season in the top flight, new boss Andoni Iraola will be keen to add as much quality as he can to his squad this summer. Bringing in Scott would certainly bolster his midfield options and show that the south club are serious about building on the platform of last season’s Premier League survival.

If Bournemouth can beat off the competition and make Scott their player it will be a real coup for the club. Bristol City have put a £25 million asking price on the player, but it seems Bournemouth are determined to get this deal done and are ready to match Bristol City’s evaluation.

Who is Alex Scott?

At just 19-year-old, Scott has already racked up a remarkable 91 first-team appearances for the Robins to date. He has been a mainstay in the side for the last two seasons and is developing rapidly. Bristol City boss Nigel Pearson will be reluctant to let him go, but has already said, “every player has a price. It will have to be one hell of a bid for him to go…Scott’s had two really good Championship seasons for us which is remarkable to say he’s only 19 and he’s been one of our most successful and consistent players,” as quoted by Bristol Live.

Despite his youth, the England under-20 international looks ready to test his mettle in the top flight. The Vitality Stadium could be the perfect stage for Scott to strut his stuff next season.
