The Cherries ex-player has been called up to Gareth Southgate’s Three Lions squad after just three Premier League games for the Villa Park side.
A number of Bournemouth fans have taken to Twitter to comment on the news that ex-Cherries defender Tyrone Mings, now at Aston Villa, has been included in Gareth Southgate’s latest England squad.
The 26-year-old was on the books at the Vitality Stadium from 2015, having joined from Ipswich Town, but only made 23 appearances for the South Coast club in all competitions, 17 in the Premier League (Transfermarkt).
Mings swapped Bournemouth for Villa in the second half of last season and was a revelation for Dean Smith’s side, helping them shoot up the Championship table and seal a top-six place, after which they went on to win the playoffs.
The 6ft 5in centre-back subsequently joined the Villans permanently and has continued in the same vein of form this time round; as a result, he has been recognised with a spot in the Three Lions’ setup for their Euro 2020 qualifiers against Bulgaria and Kosovo on 7 and 10 September respectively.

Bournemouth have already faced Villa once this season, the Cherries winning 2-1 at Villa Park earlier this month, while the Premier League reverse fixture at the Vitality Stadium takes place on 1 February.
