Bournemouth are pushing for an immediate return to the Premier League, and may eye some late additions to try and aid Jason Tindall’s cause.

One fascinating rumour emerged over the weekend, which suggested that the Cherries could end up engineering a swap deal.

The Sun report that Bournemouth want to re-sign Matt Ritchie from Newcastle United, having sold him to the Magpies in 2016.

A swap deal may be on the cards though, with midfielder Philip Billing potentially on offer to Newcastle.

Billing is in a somewhat bizarre situation, with boss Tindall claiming he is out injured whilst the Dane denies that.

The 24-year-old midfielder cost a huge £15million in 2019, but has now suffered two straight relegations with Huddersfield and Bournemouth.

Ritchie was a fan favourite at the Vitality Stadium, bagging 31 goals and 29 assists in 142 games for the Cherries, with fans now reacting to the speculation.

Some believe that bringing back Ritchie is a no brainer, as he can slot in at left wing back and bring real passion to the cause.

Others feel a deal makes no sense and would rather keep hold of Billing, believing he is worth much more than Ritchie whilst being much younger, meaning he has more longevity in him.
