Aston Villa are close to completing a long awaited move for Bournemouth’s Tyrone Mings.
Mings’ move to Villa is not a surprise, but the reported fee is eyebrow raising.
The Telegraph report the fee will be £20 million, with The Guardian claiming it will rise to £26.5 million with instalments.
This is a huge fee for a player who is still unproven in the Premier League.
Injuries upset Mings’ spell at Bournemouth after his move from Ipswich Town, and the subsequent signing of Nathan Ake blocked his first team chances.
Villa signed Mings on loan last season and he played a major role in the club winning promotion.

He was outstanding as they won in the play-offs and was a popular played in the dressing room and among supporters.
Villa are pleased to have him, but Bournemouth fans are just as thrilled with the total fee.
It will net them more than three times what the club paid for Mings.
